MMU Novella Award
This year Manchester Metropolitan University’s Cheshire Campus is launching the inaugural MMU Novella Award, the first iteration of what will become a bi-annual literary prize. The competition will conclude with a one-day Novella Festival at the MMU Cheshire Campus consisting of readings, talks and panel discussions. Novelist Jenn Ashworth will front the judging panel and decide the winner after a team of internal readers whittles down the submissions to a shortlist.
Sandstone Press: One of the UK’s leading independent publishers, Sandstone Press has agreed to publish and promote the winning novella. Sandstone’s accolades include twice being longlisted for the Man Booker Prize.
Diana Beaumont: A member of the Rupert Heath Literary Agency, Diana Beaumont has agreed to give special consideration to signing the winning entrant.
Time To Read: A federation of 22 library authorities in the North West, Time To Read will be promoting both the Novella Award and the novella form itself through their various channels, including reading and writing groups.
