Welcome to the Axis autumn season 2017!
Whilst the world around us, both near and far, keeps changing at an alarming pace, Axis Arts Centre continues in its mission to bring the very best new performance and arts events to Crewe and the surrounding region.
And there are plenty of familiar names and faces too, as artists we’ve presented before continue to make waves nationally and internationally. From the near legendary Schrödinger by Reckless Sleepers to one of the funniest new theatre shows you’ll see in a long time by ‘local boy done good’ Paul O’Donnell, and from acclaimed international dance makers Igor and Moreno to that other local star Ciarán Hodgers fronting the much respected Axis (poetry) Slam, the local meets the global, proving just how vibrant the artistic scene around Axis and Crewe really is.
We’re also continuing to back the most playful and exploratory in new music with a.P.A.t.T. from Liverpool, and we’re delighted to bring back multi-media theatre company imitating the dog, before the British Council whisks them round the world to show how good British theatre is.
And that’s not to mention leading dance innovators Charlie Morrissey and Paula Hampson, or the extraordinary Third Angel again working with our partners Cheshire Rural Touring and the lovely Electric Picture House in Congleton. And we have two fascinating projects visiting the Axis OpenSpace, one celebrating 100 years of the recorded music industry the other using video to capture movement, time and progression.
Too good to miss, we think, see you soon?
