Autumn 2010

Welcome to the Axis Autumn season 2010…

…and a great range of the best new art and performance on tour in this country. We’ve got old favourites and young stars, international experimenters, high tech and low tech innovators, high flying graduates as well as some innovations of our own. This season marks the first time we have ever promoted a performance event away from our campus home, something we are looking to do increasingly as we continue to settle in to our new home in Crewe. At the Crown Hotel in Nantwich the acclaimed Joolz Denby, accompanied by Mik Davis, will be offering their own blend of words and music as part of the wonderful Nantwich Words and Music Festival. Alongside this we welcome back the brilliant People Show, top innovators Prototype Theater, leading contemporary music ensemble Black Hair, graduate dance theatre stars Levantes, artist Lisa Stansbie, dance artist and lecturer Vincent Cacialano and long time associate Fred McVittie. Visiting for the first time are the extraordinary talents of US based performance company Cupola Bobber, the uniquely collaborative dance and digital work of Yael Flexer and Nic Sandiland, leading new poet/live artist Polarbear and the Edinburgh Fringe phenomenon that is Little Bulb Theatre. Look out also for another Curating Knowledge season in the Open Space, and a growing list of Creative Opportunities – a whole host of ways in which you can get involved with everything we do here. See you soon!
