Autumn 2011

Autumn 2011

Following a very successful outing to the Nantwich Festival of Arts in July, Axis Arts Centre is once again delighted to present its autumn season of performance and installation.

Read on for full details – each event has been carefully selected as an example of some of the best innovative new performance available anywhere in this country.

Returning favourites Action Hero, Little Bulb, Equivox and Jean Abreu are for this season joined by our first ever comedy act, the hilarious New Art Club (ok with some dance thrown in), alongside fantastic performance events by long time associates Michael Pinchbeck and Vincent Cacialano, that will both spill out into the Axis Open Space.

This season also marks the first time we’ve ever brought a piece back for a second viewing, Reckless Sleepers’ seminal Schrödinger, a full 13 years after we gave it its World Premiere. Plus another first – our first piece of hip hop theatre, by the very talented Maxwell Golden and directed by Contact Theatre’s Baba Israel, appropriate for anyone aged 13 and over.

And you can get involved too – if you want to perform your own poetry/spoken word, alongside top slam poet Ben Mellor, check out the details of the Superheroes of Slam, or see the back of the brochure for more creative opportunities.

See you soon?
